Joe Harms Medal
The Joe Harms Medal is awarded to a person who is distinguished for their excellence in mineral exploration and demonstrated contribution to the discovery of ore deposits or ground-breaking knowledge about their formation.

Selection criteria:
- Evidence of sustained contributions and scientific impact (relative to opportunity) in any field  relating to economic geology;
- A member of the GSA;
- Evidence of impactful service to the geological community
